The good results continued to come in for Cuchulainn's Cyclists in the IVCA league. On Easter Sunday the action moved to Summerhill, Co. Meath for another long road race of 100km. In the biggest race of the day Alan Gray, in his first race since completing The Rás last May had a good day to come 3rd place in the bunch sprinting for the win. David Holland, also in the same bunch, finished just outside the top 10 in 11th place. Incredibly Alan's father Martin Grey, still competing competitively well into his 6th decade was also in the same bunch and finished in 31st.
In the second race of the day, last week's winner Ray Fedigan, had another good result. With 2 riders have broken clear and staying away to contest the top 2 steps of the podium, Ray won the sprint for 3rd. Aidan Delany also went well in the same race finishing in the top 15riders.
Meanwhile in Co. Antrim, Liam Dolan was riding the 3 day Tour of the North, with the Clann Eireann of Lurgan. The race was won by one of the visiting professional teams from England. Liam had a solid weekend to claim 16th position overall. The last day's stage was run off in biblical conditions, of 2oC coupled with constant rain & sleet. Such was the weather that by Monday lunch time, only 61 of the original 115 startes had finished the race.
