Round 13 of the Bike Station League

Round 13 of the Bike Station League was a short, fast circuit from the Ardee road roundabout to Ardee, Dorian's and through Castlebellingham, with the finish at the Fane bridge.

There were five ladies racing with Rosena and Rosemary in group 1, Claire Ludlow in group two and Johanna Rogan and Mary Laverty in group three. Group one was reduced from three to two after 4km as one was swept away by a passing group leaving only the two Rosies to work together to stay away from groups two and three. Coming along the finishing straight, ever watchful for the chasing groups, Rosemary and Rosena sprinted for second place with Rosemary taking second and Rosie third overall.

Only seconds later, the combined groups two and three came in like an express train with Johanna edging ahead of Claire and Mary in the bunch sprint, a super performance considering her recent promotion from group 2!

No change then in the overall ladies standings at the top, Rosemary closes the gap on Rosena by one point with a deficit of 12 points and climbs up the table a few places, but there are only five rounds left. Results and updated table on the website.

An exciting night of racing for the ladies, well done all! Next week, one for the climbers, the dreaded Long Woman's Grave returns for round 14.
