Round 3 of the Cuchulainn Bike Station Cycling League saw the introduction of a new circuit with the riders completing laps based around the Sportsman Restaurant. The circuit was a real game of "two halves" with one part being all down hill, which coupled with a tail wind made it an extremely fast section. The riders then swung around the roundabout to complete the same road only at a considerably slower pace due to the steady gradient. The climbing saw many riders loose touch with their respective groups and made for a tough night's racing.
For the third night in a row in Race 1 Group four managed to hold off the chasers and take the spoils. Martin Colgan won the sprint ahead of Gary McGovern and third place went to Alex McDonnell. Such was the severity of the course that of the 20 plus riders that started out in Group 4, only five of them managed to make it to the line together.
Race 2 was an equally hard affair and saw William Loughlin of group 2 put in an incredible performance to take the win. Andrew Mcafee and Brian grogan of group 3 took second and third respectively. Under sixteen rider Emmet Gorman has battled extremely hard to take fourth position. Sarah Fagan was the first lady home, just missing out on a top ten position in eleventh.
