Club's Off Road cyclists successful in Bree, Co. Wexford

The Rás Tailteann wasn't the only cycling action in Dundalk last week, riders from Cuchulainn Cycling Club were busy in other areas as well.

 
Round 4 of the off road Cross Country Mountain Bike championships moved to Bree Hill in Co. Wexford. The club posted a number of good results with Jason Malone taking second place in the senios 3 category. In the main category PJ Hynes did well to get a top 10 result. Oliver Hylén O`Shuaghnessey got 3rd place in the under 14s and in the under 8s Logan McCareavey won another silver medal for the club
 
The Bike Station cycling league has past the half way point, with round 8 being a very challenging affair finishing at The Long Woman's Grave. Tomas McCabe further strengthened his grip on the title by winning a 2 up sprint ahead of AimhirghinO`Brannagain, with Cuchulainn's Liam Dolan in 3rd/ Despite the harder and longer circuit than normal it was a close affair on the line. with only a few minutes separating first to the final finisher.. The support race went to Darren Kane of Carrickmacross CC, ahead of team mate Aidan Leonard.
 
This week the league takes a break as the club hosts the Louth Championships.  The Drogheda Wheelers team is expected to be very strong as the have a number of riders sure to be in good form coming off the back of the Rás Tailteann.
