Jimmy Flynn wins Hill Climb National Title

Jimmy Flynn has successfully defended his Masters 60 National Hill Climbing Championships. The event was held in County Kerry on the scenic Glounsharoon climb near Crag Cave, Castleisland. The climb is 1.3km in length with an average gradient of 10 per cent but featuring sections of over 20 per cent.

Jimmy beat out 2nd placed Tom Daly by 50seconds to take the gold medal. Daly is from nearby Kilarney, so had had plenty of opportunities to recon the climb, with Jimmy having only seen it for the 1st time the day before. John Foote of North Tipperary Wheelers was back in 3rd.

The senor title went to Mark Dowling of Dublin.
