Cyclo Cross season kicks off
The first round of the Ulster Cyclo Cross league was held on Sunday last in Lurgan park & Cuchulalainn man PJ Hynes had an excellent start by winning the B race. PJ had a quick start and by the second of 5 laps had moved to the front. Throughout the race he had a good battle with Benny Smyth from Newry, a regular at the Bike Station Cycling Leage, with the pair separated by less than 10 seconds at the end.
In the underage races Cuchulain had 9th and 10th place in the Under 14 boys with Eoin Holmes and Callum McCaffrey. Rhiannon Dolan was 5th in the under 14 girls. In the under 12 boys the club had 3 rides with Shane Meegan, Dylan Haughey and Ryan Doogan all going well. The Under 12 girls had Ffionn Dolan in 2nd with Grace O`Rourke missing a spot on the podium in 4th spot by just 2 seconds. Also not to much further back was
Holly McCaffrey. Finally in the under 10 boys Micheal o`Rourke had a great race finishing in the top half of the field. |
