Despite the festive period and low single digit temperatures, 40 rides turned out on New Year's Eve for the Carrick Cycles Time Trial. For 2015 the route had been changed, with the traditional out to Castlebellingham & back course being changed for a more challenging 16km route. Riders started half way between Dundalk and Castlebellingham, headed to the Dunleer roundabout and back to Kilsaran. This course had considerably more hills than the previous course & also saw riders battle 10.5km of a headwind, et only get 5.5km of a tailwind.
In terms of results it was "as you were" with both the male & female 2014 champions defending their titles. Garda CC's Eve McCrystal finished in an impressive time of 24min 47sec to not only win the ladies, but finish 5th overall.Cuchulainn'c Sheena Dullaghan was second, with Ardee's Johanna Rogan in third.
In the men's race Niall Clarke was untouchable with a very swift winning time of 22min 41sec with almost a full minute to spare over second place Neil Delahye of Team ASEA. Cuchulainn's Liam Dolan was third.
The club would like to thank Carrick Cycles for their generous sponsorship of the event and organisers who braved the day to help out.
The first event of 2016 for the club will be the Annual Traders Cup on Sunday February 21st
