Round 18 of the Bike Station League

By Rosemary Gibson

Tuesday night saw the 18th and final round of the Bike Station League from the Fane bridge to Dunleer roundabout and back. It was a fine, sunny and breezy evening for the short and fast 26km circuit, and there were four women in contention for points.

Mairead Holden finished strongly in group one, Rosemary Gibson and Rosena Lynch were challenged by the strong pace in group two, and Celine McPhillips was horsing the lads on in group four.

Rosena Lynch will likely finish as leading lady but a lot of the other prizes are up for grabs and could be decided in the last round. Results to be posted soon - who is up for bling? Well done Rosie and all the ladies who took part!

If you are reading this and wondering if it might be for you, then stop wondering and start planning your winter training :-) The lads and ladies are all very welcoming and group one is always looking for new recruits. Doing the League is a great way to make new friends in Cuchulainn and different clubs, and really makes you push yourself to achieve more than you would going out on your own. Plus it is a handicapped race so opportunities for everyone to win bling at the end of the year!
