MTB League Round 3
Cuchulainn MTB League Round 3
Tuesday 28th May saw round 3 of the Cuchulainn MTB league being contested in Bellurgan Park, comprising of 3 laps of the 2012 U14 Irish XC NPS course, a total distance of 8.4km.
2 time keepers and 18 riders signed up on the night for the 7pm start. The continuing drier weather has meant that the course has continued to ride well and improved lap times were to be predicted due to the reduced elevation in the U14 course.
First to set off was Sandra O’Hagan followed closely by Gary Winterlich and then the remainder of the riders following in intervals. The handicapping system again worked and provided some very close racing with the majority of the field finishing within 5 minutes. 3 DNF’s due to mechanicals and a few spills by riders provided a bit of post-race banter.

Round 4 will be on Tuesday 4th June @ 7pm. Course will be on the open mountain. All visiting club riders and guests are welcome to compete as long as they hold a current (2013) Cycling Ireland Licence.
