L-R Seamus McEvoy, Gary Shiels, Johnny, Declan Gerry McCabe
The latest round of the Ulster Cyclocross series was held in Belfast's Lady Dixon Park on Sunday October 16th. Cuchulainn had a good contingent of riders competing in the 2 senior races. In the main race of the day Johnny McCabe was the 1st Super Vet home, finishing close to the front of the field in the 9 lap race. Brother Gerry was 7th man home, taking second in the vets race, followed in closely by Gary Sheils & Seamus McAvoy. Not to be outdone by his younger brothers Declan mcCabe was also amongst the results, taking 3rd in the super vet classification. Myles McCorry was riding extremely well, keeping pace with Banbridge's National Champion Roger Aiken, but was unlucky when a mechanical failure forced him to abandon. Aiken went onto win the race and now holds a commanding lead in the provincial competition. The Ulster series continues next Sunday in Larne.
Meanwhile the club's overnight trip to City North Hotel was a huge success. Over 40 riders rolled out of Dundalk on Sunday lunchtime & enjoyed a great night in the hotel. Members can keep abreast of upcoming events by checking out www.dundalkcycling.com
